The António Cupertino de Miranda Foundation is a private, not for-profit institution whose mission is to provide educational and cultural activities that promote the knowledge society and contribute to social inclusion, at the same time as offering opportunities for leisure time activities.
This Foundation is located at “Avenida da Boavista”, the longest avenue in Porto that is more than 5 km in length and that crosses 6 neighbourhoods! The conference site is near the sea and the mouth of the Douro River and faces the major park of Porto city.
The city of Porto is easily accessible from abroad. Several airlines offer service to the Francisco Sá Carneiro International Airport (https://www.ana.pt/pt/opo/home). It is strategically located 11 km from Porto, in an important commercial and industrial area. It is served by most of the major European companies and some low-cost ones, providing fast connections to Europe, and intercontinental routes.
How to Get There
To get to the city centre from the airport
- Metro: Line E – Trindade
- Bus: Lines 601 e 602 and 3M (01:00 – 05:00)
- Car Rental: Cars may be rented at the airport
To get to the city centre from the Campanhã railway station:
- Train: S. Bento railway station (city center) – trip included in the cost of an Alfa ticket
- Metro: Lines A, B, C and F
- Bus: Line 207
To get to the city centre from the international bus stations:
- Campo 24 de Agosto
- Metro: Lines A, B, C and F
- Bus: Line 300

The Andante ticket can be purchased from ticket vending machines inside Metro stations, from Andante Shops and from the Tourism Office Centre. For the occasional ticket (Z2 to Z12) depending on your route, one-hour minimum validity, and is rechargeable. Andante Tour tickets for 1 or 3 days (offer unlimited travel on buses, metro, and urban trains between Trofa and Espinho).
